Reading the islands

≈Each island is one year. The west half holds Semester 1 and the east half Semester 2. Bridges lead to the next year.
■A building's colour shows its subject group, and its shape hints at the field: stepped plinths for foundations, server towers for computer systems, glowing spires for AI, silos for data, workshops for projects and Thai sala pavilions for general education and English.
†Courses marked † count toward the QMUL degree. Pass every one of them with at least 40% to graduate with two degrees.
‡An airship over a building (‡) means QMUL lecturers fly in to teach that course in an intensive block.
◆A glowing beacon floats above every course you haven't discovered yet. Open its card to discover it. Finish a semester or a whole year for a bonus.
★Items: discover every course in a semester and an item drops in a beam of light on that semester's path. Walk into it to equip it. Collect both items of a year and your student evolves to that year's title.
●Data orbs are hidden on every island. Walk into one to collect it and learn a fact about the programme.
✓Labels: a bright label is a course you haven't explored yet. Open its card and the label turns black with a ✓.
↗Move: joystick on touch screens, WASD or arrow keys on a keyboard, Shift or a full push to run. You can still tap the ground or a building to walk there. Open a course with the button or E, Space or Enter when you stand next to it. Drag the view to look around, then press the target button to recenter.
