History

The Department of Computer Engineering at King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) was established in 1988, initially stemming from the Department of Electrical Engineering. It was designed to address the growing need for expertise in both hardware and software systems. Over the years, the department has developed into one of the leading computer engineering programs in Thailand, offering undergraduate and graduate degrees. These programs focus on a balance between theoretical foundations and practical, hands-on experiences in areas such as computer systems, software development, network engineering, data platform and AI engineering.

The department is equipped with advanced research laboratories and facilities that support cutting-edge research and education. Additionally, it promotes innovation through various student activities like competitions and the renowned ComCamp. The department continues to evolve, offering international programs and maintaining a strong emphasis on producing graduates who are well-prepared to meet global challenges in technology.
